WWOOFing – the lowdown

Job:

WWOOFing stands for worldwide opportunities on organic farms. In exchange for free board and lodging, you will be expected to work for 4-6 hours on an organic farm. You can WWOOF from a week up to 6 months in many countries. Read our tips here.

Pros:

The chance to experience and learn from an organic lifestyle. 

Free accommodation and food. 

It’s a healthy lifestyle – you will be active, in the fresh air and eating organic food.

It’s a cheap way to travel and see other countries . You can easily move from one WWOOF location to another to experience living in new places. 

Cons:

You may be quite remote, so if you are a sightseeing, city lover, you will need to put that on pause for a while. 

Farm work is hard, it includes early starts, getting dirty and all weather conditions.

Your accommodation could be very basic and not have WiFi.
