Nanny – the lowdown

Job:

Nannies are in demand on the slopes. They work in the nursery and are responsible for non-skiing children from infants upwards. Nannies also take older children to and from ski school and care for them until their parents return. You will be working for a company.

Skills:

You need to be responsible and like children.

Most jobs require childcare qualifications or experience.

Pros:

Free food and accommodation

Apart from the frantic school holiday weeks, you may not have too many charges.

It’s easy to keep kids entertained in the mountains.

Cons:

You won’t get much time on the slopes, as you work all day most days. So it’s not the best job for skiers or those wanting to learn.
