Summer Camps are usually based by a lake in the country and offer residential activity courses to children on a weekly or monthly basis for up to three months in the Summer.
All Camp Counsellors look after children at camp and and their job specs fall into two main categories: general counsellor and activity specialist.
General Counsellor:
Will look after a tent or cabin of campers, be responsible for getting them ready for the day and taking them to various activities. You need to keep them busy and happy all day, then you will share your accommodation with them in the evenings.
Activity Specialist:
You will also be in charge of a tent or cabin full of charges in the evening, but you will teach and work in a specialised area during the day.
Specialities range from camp to camp, but most offer:
archery, football, basketball, swimming, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, music, drama, art, climbing, hiking, horse riding, tennis and photography to name a few.
