Job:
A Ski Rep is the point of contact for all the guests in the resort for questions and problems. They run and host the transfer day coach journeys, the welcome evenings and visit the chalets regularly. They liaise with local services such as ski schools, ski hire, coach companies and hospitals. You will be working for a company.
Skills:
You will need to be an extrovert, fast-acting, problem solver.
Most reps have worked in other ski season roles like Chalet Hosts before.
Language skills are a plus
Pros:
Free accommodation and food.
Free lift pass and skiing equipment.
Resort reps get a good amount of time on the slopes in comparison to other ski jobs, as their contact with guests is usually in the evenings and on transfer days.
Cons:
A Resort Rep spends most of their time apologising and appeasing clients. Guests need someone to shout at and that role goes to the Rep.
Transfer days have early starts and late finishes. Plus, flight delays, grumpy coach drivers and long coach journeys are frequent.
The job has a lot of responsibility and remember you only really meet the guests with problems.
